  • The luxury of a yoga stretch or making a healthy lunch is something that belongs in a parallel universe! That glossy Instagram styled life just isn’t your reality!

A unique set of challenges

Midlife can throw up a unique set of challenges and we can often be pulled in so many different directions that taking care of ourselves and prioritising our own needs can be a million miles away from reality.

Stress and anxiety can be magnified at this time in our lives, having a profound impact on our hormonal balance. As long as we’re alive there will always be stress, but it’s how we respond to it and take action to deal with it that matters. As a qualified mind/body practitioner I work with you to develop new positive habits that will change how you perceive stress.

Life coaching is a powerful way of shining a light on our reality. We break down the different components in our life to identify what works and what doesn’t. What CAN be changed and what can’t. What’s most important to us and what is no longer serving us.

And once we’ve identified what works and what doesn’t we can easily put in place a set of new habits, behaviours and thought processes that help us to make LASTING positive change.

Change is SCARY

But if we know we need to make changes in our lives, because something isn’t working for us, it can feel like we’re swimming upstream.

It’s NOT about willpower or just being willing to make changes. Your brain is actually genetically programmed to avoid change!

Your brain loves routine, familiarity and staying comfortable
Your brain also has a negative bias, so as well as keeping you “safe” by avoiding change it will convince you that change is really not the right action to take.

No wonder we get stuck and stay as we are month after month and year after year.

But thanks to the science of neuroplasticity, we’ve discovered that change doesn’t have to be hard, and that the brain is adaptable and CAN be changed.

Changing our behaviours, our patterns of thinking and our emotional responses can have a profound effect and create real and lasting change.
